:: For Job Seekers

CONSTRUCTION.
NOT JUST A JOB, BUT A CAREER!

The Construction Industry invites you to visit their Job Fairs to interview potential employers. The participating companies, organizations, and training programs are varied and represent the great variety of jobs within the industry. Whether you are graduating from school, looking to change careers, interested in becoming an apprentice in a trades program, interested in management, testing equipment, operating highway equipment, building a bridge, estimating, building inspection, a summer internship, landscaping, CAD and drafting, surveying, masonry, or even interested to move to other areas of the country, etc. there will be a company in your interest area waiting to talk to you.

Companies are looking for employees at all levels, from no experience to highly skilled individuals, 18 years of age and older. A career in construction offers good financial benefits, training with no student loans to pay back, and an opportunity to go as far as you want if you are dedicated, responsible, and committed to your job.

Construction gives those looking for a second chance just that opportunity. It gives those unsure of which direction they want to go, the experience to find out what path they want to take. It gives those that choose to work on a job right out of high school a way to get started and yet have the potential to move up. It even gives the individual interested in traveling to other parts of the country or world, the work skills to be in demand and to take them anywhere they want to go.

Veterans are encouraged to participate. Companies and training programs are anxious to bring you into the industry. They know the service you have given our country can’t be repaid. They also know veterans gained great experience in their military service and are ready to put their expertise to use in the workforce.

Don’t miss this special opportunity to explore the variety of jobs in construction and to talk with the employers that are hiring the individuals to fill those jobs. This may be just what you have been looking for and you won’t know till you try it.

FOR CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY EMPLOYERS

You are invited to participate in our third annual Construction Industry Job Fair, to be held April 23, 2008, from 9:30 to 4:30 p.m.! This exciting event will be held at national Western Complex, Expo Hall Level 2, 4655 Humboldt St, Denver, Colorado and is sponsored by the Construction Career Days Committee, Constructors and Designers Alliance and the companies that brought you Colorado Construction Career Days.

Many of you may have participated in our annual Construction Career Days in October 2007 at the Adams County Fairgrounds. Attended by over 1,500 students, the event was a great success. We want to keep up their interest and momentum by promoting construction jobs through the Construction Industry Job Fair. This fair is intended to give companies and training programs the opportunity to recruit and hire potential employees.

If you have permanent or summer job openings, please plan on joining us on April 19th to recruit students, 18 yrs. of age and older, from the following sectors:

  • High Schools participating in Construction Career Days
  • Construction Technology Programs throughout Colorado
  • Workforce Center job seekers interested in the construction field
  • Community College Construction Program students
  • Veterans including those in the Helmets to Hard Hats program
  • University Students and Graduates

Last year’s Construction Industry Job Fair saw employers finding very well qualified individuals to interview and hire. The comments from employers ranged from “so many outstanding applicants” to “I hired twenty one out of the twenty two applicants I interviewed.” And this year we expect even more participants. The cost for companies to reserve a table at this important event is $150.00. There is no cost for Training programs or organizations to participate if they are recruiting. Proceeds will be used to host future Construction Career Days and Job Fairs. This is your company’s opportunity to find your next employee and reaffirm our commitment to the education community and public we are serious about needing to build a future workforce.

Employers should complete the registration form to sign-up for the Job Fair. Contact Lee Blum at 303-388-2422 if you have questions regarding the Job Fair. Your registration confirmation will be provided via email.
